History & Background

White Rhino Brewing was founded in 2017 in Dudhli, Uttarakhand, near Dehradun. India's first mountain craft brewery. The founders chose the location specifically for the Himalayan spring water. They sourced the Weihenstephan yeast strain from Bavaria — one of the oldest brewing yeast cultures in the world — and applied it to a German hefeweizen recipe using Indian ingredients. The result was immediately recognised as something different. White Rhino has since added several styles but the Hefeweizen remains the signature.
