History & Background

Ankur Jain founded B9 Beverages in 2015 with a clear brief: make a craft beer for urban India. The white beer was the first product and it stood out immediately. A hazy, flavourful wheat beer when the market was dominated by clear lagers. Bira means beer in Hindi and 91 is India's country code. Within three years the brand was exporting internationally and had raised significant VC funding. Today B9 operates its own brewery in Madhya Pradesh and has expanded to multiple styles, but the White remains the product most associated with Indian craft beer's rise.
