Old Monk Gold Reserve represents Mohan Meakin's step up from the iconic XXX. While the original Old Monk was already aged longer than most Indian rums when it launched in 1954, Gold Reserve takes that philosophy further with a full 12 years of ageing in oak casks at the Solan distillery in Himachal Pradesh. It was developed as a response to the growing premium segment in India, where drinkers who grew up on Old Monk XXX wanted something richer without switching to imported Scotch. Gold Reserve delivers exactly that — more of what made the original great, with added depth from the extra time in wood.

Production Method

Molasses-based rum distilled in pot stills at Mohan Meakin's Kasauli and Solan facilities. Aged for a minimum of 12 years in American oak casks before blending and bottling. No artificial colour or flavour is added — the deep amber comes entirely from barrel contact.
