Old Monk Lemon Rum is a lemon-flavoured dark rum from Mohan Meakin's Connoisseur Collection. It's built on the Old Monk dark rum base with natural lemon flavouring added, producing a sharper, more tart citrus character than the Orange variant. It's designed as a cocktail ingredient, not a sipping rum.

Old Monk Lemon Rum is priced at approximately Rs 500 in Delhi, Rs 580 in Mumbai, Rs 450 in Goa, and Rs 610 in Karnataka for 750ml. Pricing is broadly similar to the other Connoisseur Collection flavoured rums.

Old Monk Lemon Rum is excellent in rum sours — combine it with fresh lemon juice, sugar syrup, and ice for a classic sour format. It also works in rum lemonade (with still or sparkling water, ice, and a mint sprig) and as a substitute for rum in whisky sour-style builds. For a simple party drink, Lemon Rum over ice with soda water and a squeeze of fresh lime is hard to beat.

You can, but lemon rum and cola is an acquired taste — the tart lemon can clash with cola's sweetness. Lemon Rum works better with soda water, tonic, or lemonade than with cola. If you specifically want Old Monk with cola, standard XXX is the better choice — the caramel and vanilla notes in XXX complement cola far more naturally than citrus flavouring does.
