History & Background

Black Ruby was created by master blender Emma Walker as a fruit-forward reinterpretation of Black Label, aimed at drinkers who find the original too smoky and want something more approachable. It draws on luscious, fruity malts from the Black Label reserves matured in ex-wine, PX Oloroso and bourbon casks, alongside smooth caramel malt from Diageo's state-of-the-art Roseisle distillery. It launched as a global travel-retail exclusive, which is why it remains far easier to find at Indian airport duty-free stores than in general retail, though a handful of premium wine shops in major Indian cities have begun stocking it.
