History & Background

George Ballantine opened a grocer's shop in Edinburgh in 1827 and began blending whisky to meet customer demand. The business grew steadily and by 1895 the blends were being exported across the British Empire. Today Ballantine's Finest is one of the best-selling Scotch blends in the world.
