Royal Stag is a genuine blended whisky — it is a combination of Indian grain spirit and imported Scotch malt whiskies. Royal Stag costs a few rupees more than Imperial Blue in most states. If you drink your whisky primarily with soda or cola, Imperial Blue is the better choice. If you occasionally drink it neat, Royal Stag has more to offer.

Royal Stag prices vary significantly across India due to different state excise structures. In Goa it is available at around Rs 560 which is the cheapest in India. Delhi prices it at Rs 680, Karnataka at Rs 720 and Mumbai at Rs 760. States with higher excise duties and state monopoly systems tend to price IMFL whiskies higher. Royal Stag is one of the most widely available whiskies across all Indian states and union territories and is consistently among the most affordable options wherever it is sold.

No alcohol is good for health and Royal Stag is no exception. However from a harm reduction perspective, Royal Stag at 42.8% ABV is a standard strength spirit. Drinking any whisky in moderation — defined by health authorities as no more than one standard drink per day — is significantly safer than binge drinking.
