Method
Gently muddle the mint leaves with the sugar syrup in the bottom of a julep cup or rocks glass. Do not over-muddle — you want the oils, not the bitterness. Fill the glass with crushed ice. Pour the Jim Beam over the ice and stir gently. Add more crushed ice to form a mound on top.
