Pale amber with a bright, almost golden tinge, lighter than the Original
Nose & Aroma
Fresh orange peel and citrus zest up front, with the herbal anise and cinnamon base of the Original sitting further back

Bright and citrus-forward with orange peel and light herbal spice; noticeably fresher and less bitter than the Original, built to work as a mixer as much as a shot
Finish
Short to medium, clean and citrussy with a gentle herbal warmth trailing behind

History & Background

Jägermeister Orange launched after successful test markets in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 2025, where it outperformed expectations, prompting a wider rollout across Germany, Austria, Croatia and other markets through 2025 and 2026. It was described by Mast-Jägermeister CEO Michael Volke as the standout success of that launch cycle, aimed at extending the brand into refreshing, citrus-driven long drinks rather than the ice-cold shot occasion the Original is best known for.

Production & Maturation

Production Method
Built on the classic 56-botanical Jägermeister base with citrus and orange peel added to shift the profile toward a brighter, fruitier liqueur suited to long drinks.
Aging & Maturation
Follows a shorter process than the Original, with the citrus character kept fresh rather than mellowed through extended maturation.

Frequently Asked Questions

When did Jägermeister Orange launch and why?

Jägermeister Orange rolled out more widely through 2025 and into 2026 after strong test-market results in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, where sales exceeded the company's expectations. Mast-Jägermeister positioned it as a way to move beyond the ice-cold shot occasion of the Original into refreshing, citrus-driven long drinks, and CEO Michael Volke has since called it the standout success of the brand's 2025 line extensions.

Is Jägermeister Orange meant to be a shot or a mixer?

It works both ways, but it's specifically designed with long drinks and mixed serves in mind rather than being purely an ice-cold shot format like the Original. The brighter citrus profile is built to hold up when topped with soda, tonic or ginger ale, making it more of a mixing liqueur than a straight shot, even though it can still be served ice-cold if you prefer.

How does Orange compare to the Original Jägermeister?

Orange is lighter in colour, less bitter and noticeably more citrus-forward than the Original, with the classic anise and cinnamon character present but pushed into a supporting role behind fresh orange peel. If you find the Original too herbal or bitter, Orange is a meaningfully softer, fruitier entry point into the brand.

Is Jägermeister Orange available in India yet?

As a recently launched line extension still expanding market by market, availability in India is limited and largely restricted to premium liquor retailers and specialist spirits stores in major metro cities as international distribution grows. It's worth checking with a premium retailer or duty-free outlet, and stock is expected to improve as the rollout continues through 2026.
