History & Background

Eight Finger Eddie takes its name from a real figure in Goa's history, an American who arrived in the 1960s and became a central character in the development of Goa's hippie and counterculture scene that eventually helped put the state on the international tourist map. Goa Brewing Co., founded by Suraj Shenai and operating from a 250-year-old Indo-Portuguese villa in Sangolda, named their flagship IPA after him as a nod to Goa's countercultural roots. The oat cream technique, using oats to soften the mouthfeel of a heavily hopped beer, places it among the more technically ambitious IPAs being made in India.

What does oat cream double dry-hopped mean?

Oat cream refers to using oats in the grain bill to give the beer a smoother, creamier mouthfeel than a typical IPA.
